It’s amazing how much more “official” something feels once it’s up on our website. Two weeks ago we sent letters out to our clients talking about the news, but it wasn’t until today that we posted the news to our website: We have sold the company.
Well, to be more precisely, we’ve actually sold the technology and kept the corporation, but those’re just details. With the sale, what remains has been completely reorganized – it was a complicated thing, but I’m very proud of how it all came together. We’ve struck an agreement with the new owners of the software, such that Lewis Media Inc. will be retaining the rights to resell Bistro so that we can continue to support our existing resellers, and we’ll be maintaining the Bistro help desk with several part-time support staff. For all other work (design/programming/consulting), we found a local partner: ZFactor Communications
Although I’m very happy with the software sale, it’s really this partnership with ZFactor that has me so pumped: not only are we passing them the torch to continue providing top-notch support, but our clients will also now have access to a wealth of knowledge and experience that they didn’t have with Lewis Media. We came from a software development background, whereas Massimo and the ZFactor team come from more marketing and design roots – take a look at our logos, that alone is a great indication of the difference 😉
Personally, though, it means I’ll be finishing up me commitments with the new owners and with ZFactor, then I’ll be moving on to something new. What that is, I don’t yet know – but I’m sure it’ll be exciting.
Anyway, if you’re interested in bouncing around some ideas, or if you just want to catch up, drop me a line. My new office hours are quite flexible.
